Career Opportunities

A four year degree in Psychology opens doors for majors in a variety of work places. With developed analytic skills , statistical, research, and writing skills, psychology majors find jobs in areas such as social services, human resources, private and public agencies, government, non-profit, education, parole and police, court advocacy, marketing, advertising, communications, human resources, and business. Junior or senior psychology majors are encouraged to take a course which provides field experience (Psyc 294) in order to build a resume, make contacts in the community, and to conceptualize how principles in psychology can be adapted to the work place.

Advanced degrees in psychology provide qualifications for positions in research, clinical psychology, private counseling practice, school psychology, teaching, and applied research positions in industry and hospital settings. See the following links for more information.
