Related Course Work
The Psychology major encourages course work in related content areas by requiring at least 12 credits in a non-psychology “related” area of study. Students can choose a specific minor or take individual courses depending on career goals and interests. At Tri-Campus, students are encouraged to take courses in programs such as Urban and Community Studies, Sociology, Business, Communications, Anthropology, or Public Policy. For example, a psychology major interested in a future position in government research might take coursework in public policy. An interest in the field of advertising or market research might lead to coursework in communications or business. Each student has the opportunity to tailor their “related” courses to his/her short-term and long-term career goals. Students explore “related” course options with their faculty advisor or choose a minor beginning in the sophomore or junior year.
