An Emphasis on Undergraduate Research
The Tri-Campus psychology department faculty are active in specialized areas of on-going research that provide interesting opportunities for student participation. Also, students engage in research concepts through their course work. Students may participate in faculty research as well as research projects initiated by other students.
Advanced psychology majors (junior or seniors) are encouraged to engage in supervised research through enrollment in Psyc 297, Undergraduate Research. Students approach faculty for research opportunities which are designed on an individual basis, or they can create their own research projects. Supervised research is typically signed up for as Psyc 299, Independent Study. This requires Psyc 202WQ as a pre-requisite and is by faculty consent only.
Tri-Campus Faculty Research Areas include, Psychology of Music, Performance, and Memory (Dr. Rodger Chaffin), Social Perception, Action, and Cognition (Dr. Kerry Marsh), Health Psychology, Neuropsychology and Aging, Memory and Language (Dr. Katarina Lukatela), Child Psychology and Anxiety Disorders (Dr. Kimberli Treadwell), Psychopharmacology, Organizational Psychology, and Career Pathing (Dr. Jared Look).
